VI INTERNATIONAL BALTIC PIANO COMPETITION IN GDAŃSK/POLAND
28 November – 5 December 2026
The VI International Baltic Piano Competition, organized by the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, will be held from 28 November to 5 December 2026.
The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, born between 1993 and 2010, with the exception of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
The VI International Baltic Piano Competition will be held in three stages.
No more than 35 pianists will take part in the Competition. The list of entrants to the first stage of the Competition will be drawn up after the assessment of submitted video-recordings by the Selection Committee consisting of members of the Piano Faculty of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
A maximum number of 12 pianists will be accepted to the second stage, and no more than 3 contestants will perform in the final stage. Performances will take place according to the alphabetical order of the contestants’ surnames commencing with a letter determined by a draw. The organizers will inform selected entrants about their admission to the first stage of the Competition via e-mail no later than 30th of September 2026. Qualified participants must be present at the Inauguration of the Competition on November 28, 2026, during which the starting letter will be drawn.
Applications should be made via electronic application form available on the Competition website ibpc.amuz.gda.pl by 6th of September 2026. Application form will be available from 15th of June 2026.
The following items should be attached with the Application Form:
- links with the applicant’s recorded repertoirein accordance withpoint 8. and 9. of these Regulations,
- the applicant’s short biographical note(course of musical education, artistic achievements)in Polish or in English,
- a copy ofadocument confirming the applicant’s date of birth,
- good qualitydigital photograph (JPG, PNG format etc.)
- confirmation of payment of the entrance fee of 120euro.

Pianists currently studying at the Stanislaw Moniuszko Academy of Music are exempt from paying the entry fee.
By entering the Competition, the participant commits not to send materials that infringe the copyrights of third parties. Otherwise, the participant bears full responsibility towards persons whose rights have been violated.
The Competition Jury will consist of outstanding musicians from Poland and abroad. The Jury will assess competitors in accordance with the Jury Rules approved during the first meeting. All Jury decisions are final and non-appealable.
Within two weeks after the end of the Competition, the scores of individual jurors from each stage will be made public on the Competition website.

Pianists currently studying under the supervision of pedagogues appointed as members of the Jury, as well as graduates of the Jury members in the last 3 years are not expected to participate in the Competition.
The participants entitle the Organizer to record their artistic presentations by means of video recordings and photographs. They also give the Organizer permission to use the materials created during Competition without territorial or time constraints. The permission applies to distribution and copying of the participants’ images, the right for public broadcasting of the artistic presentation, the right to upload the images to a computer, the right to use the images to promote the Competition and provide information about the Competition.
The Participant declares that he is entitled to perform and send recordings of works in accordance with the Regulations and that these performances do not infringe the copyrights of third parties.
The Participant grants the Organizer a non-exclusive, free license to use the submitted recordings, image and artistic presentations for purposes related to the promotion of the Competition, publication of results, archiving and educational activities. The license includes the right to record, distribute and publicly broadcast the recordings, including their publication on the Internet and in the Organizer’s information materials.
The organizer does not take over the copyright to the performance of the works or to the work itself – these rights remain with the participant or the relevant copyright owners. In case of infringement of third-party copyrights, the participant alone is responsible.
Programme
ELIMINATIONS (15–20 minutes)
Video recordings of any solo piece or pieces of varied character. These video recordings must show the work of the hands and pianist’s whole body, profile on the right side, shot with one camera without any editing during the performance of the piece. We suggest using external microphones to improve sound quality. Recordings should be posted on YouTube.
STAGE I (30–35 minutes)
- one of the following works by F. Chopin:Scherzo in B minor, Op. 20; Scherzo in B-flat minor, Op. 31; Scherzo in C-sharp minor, Op. 39; Scherzo in E major, Op. 54; Ballade in G minor, Op. 23; Ballade in F minor, Op. 38; Ballade in A-flat major, Op. 47; Ballade in F minor, Op. 52; Fantasia in F minor, Op. 49; Barcarolle in F-sharp major, Op. 60; Polonaise-Fantaisie in A-flat major, Op. 61
- free choice piece or pieces
STAGE II (55–60 minutes)
- freely arranged piano recital, during which it is required to perform a Classical Sonata by one of the composers: J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven

One of the following piano concertos:

The programme presented during the Competition must be performed from memory.
The repertoire performed on the video recordings in the eliminations stage may be repeated (in whole or in part) in the 1st or 2nd stage of the Competition.
If the time limit for the competition programme is exceeded, the Jury reserves the right to interrupt the performance. The deadline for making changes to the competition programme is October 11, 2026.
Competition Participants will have the right to choose the piano. The choice will be valid until the end of the auditions.
Awards
The expected pool of money for the prizewinners is 65.000 PLN.
The pool of money for the prizewinners may be increased.
A special prize in the amount of 2.000 PLN for the best performance of a work/works by a Polish composer (expected duration of the presentation – about 10 minutes), excluding compositions by F. Chopin.
The list of special prizes will be published on the Competition website.
The Jury has the right not to award individual main and special prizes.
Prize amount will be reduced by taxes due, in accordance with applicable regulations.
The organizers do not cover the costs of travel and stay of participants in Gdańsk. Interested participants can independently book a room at the „Dom Muzyka” hotel located on the premises of the Academy of Music, close to the competition auditions site.

- d) The basis of processing your personal data is your consent for personal data processing. The consent can be withdrawn by the Participant at any time, but the possible consent withdrawal does not influence the compliance with the law of data processing executed by the data administrator based on the consent before itswithdrawal;
- e) Submitting personal data is voluntary; nevertheless, it is necessary for achieving the purposes for which personal data was collected;
f) Data will not be shared with third parties,except for cases determined by the provisions of the law; - g) Datawill not be shared with third countries or international organizations.
- h) Data will be kept throughout the period determined in the provisions of the civil and business law, as well as throughout the period ofpossible claimspursuing;
- i) You have the right to access your personal data and correct it, remove it, limit its processing, transfer it, appeal against its processing, withdraw your consent to its processing at any giventime;
- j) You have the right to lodge a complaint with theChairmanof the Office of Personal Data Protection, if you conclude that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the general regulation of data protection.
Any doubts will be settled on the basis of the Polish version of these Regulations.

REGULAMIN
VI MIĘDZYNARODOWY BAŁTYCKI KONKURS PIANISTYCZNY
GDAŃSK, 28 listopada – 5 grudnia 2026 r.
VI Międzynarodowy Bałtycki Konkurs Pianistyczny organizowany jest przez Akademię Muzyczną im. Stanisława Moniuszki w Gdańsku w dniach 28.11–5.12.2026 r.
W Konkursie uczestniczyć mogą pianiści wszystkich narodowości, urodzeni w latach 1993–2010, z wyjątkiem obywateli Federacji Rosyjskiej i Republiki Białorusi.
VI Międzynarodowy Bałtycki Konkurs Pianistyczny odbywać się będzie w trzech etapach. Do udziału w Konkursie zostanie dopuszczonych maksymalnie 35 pianistów. Listę uczestników pierwszego etapu Konkursu wyłoni po przesłuchaniu nadesłanych nagrań Komisja Kwalifikacyjna złożona z członków Katedry Fortepianu Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku. Do etapu drugiego dopuszczonych zostanie maksymalnie 12, a do finału nie więcej niż 3 uczestników. Konkursowe prezentacje uczestników odbywać się będą w kolejności alfabetycznej nazwisk, począwszy od wylosowanej litery. Organizatorzy powiadomią uczestników pocztą elektroniczną o zakwalifikowaniu do udziału w Konkursie do dnia 30.09.2026 r. Zakwalifikowani uczestnicy mają obowiązek wziąć udział w Inauguracji Konkursu w dniu 28.11.2026, podczas której nastąpi losowanie litery początkowej.
Zgłoszeń należy dokonywać poprzez elektroniczny Formularz Zgłoszeniowy, który zostanie udostępniony od dnia 15.06.2026 r. na stronie internetowej Konkursu ibpc.amuz.gda.pl.
Zgłoszenia będą przyjmowane do dnia 06.09.2026 r.
Do Formularza Zgłoszeniowego należy dołączyć:
- linki do nagranych przez zgłaszającego się uczestnika utworów zgodnie z punktami 8. i 9. niniejszego Regulaminu,
- notkę biograficzną (przebieg edukacji muzycznej, osiągnięcia artystyczne) w języku polskim lub angielskim,
- kopię dokumentu potwierdzającego datę urodzenia,
- dobrej jakości fotografię w wersji elektronicznej (w formacie JPG, PNG itp.)
- potwierdzenie wpłaty wpisowego w wysokości 120 EUR.

Tytułem: „IBPC – imię i nazwisko”
Pianiści aktualnie studiujący w Akademii Muzycznej im. Stanisława Moniuszki w Gdańsku są zwolnieni z obowiązku wpłaty wpisowego.
Uczestnik, przystępując do konkursu, zobowiązuje się do nieprzesyłania materiałów, które naruszają prawa autorskie osób trzecich. W przeciwnym razie ponosi pełną i wyłączną odpowiedzialność wobec osób, których prawa zostały naruszone.
Jury Konkursu składać się będzie z wybitnych muzyków polskich i zagranicznych. Jury pracować będzie w oparciu o zatwierdzony na pierwszym posiedzeniu Regulamin Jury. Wszystkie decyzje Jury są ostateczne i niezaskarżalne.
W terminie do dwóch tygodni po zakończeniu Konkursu na stronie internetowej zostanie podana do publicznej wiadomości punktacja poszczególnych Jurorów z każdego etapu.
Nie przewiduje się udziału w Konkursie pianistów aktualnie studiujących pod kierunkiem pedagogów powołanych w skład międzynarodowego Jury Konkursu, a także absolwentów Jurorów z ostatnich 3 lat.
Uczestnik Konkursu wyraża zgodę na utrwalanie jego prezentacji artystycznych oraz wizerunku w postaci dokumentacji fotograficznej, nagrań audio-wideo oraz na korzystanie przez organizatorów z materiałów zarejestrowanych w trakcie trwania Konkursu, bez ograniczeń terytorialnych i czasowych. Zgoda obejmuje: wykorzystanie, utrwalanie, rozpowszechnianie i powielanie wizerunku uczestników, prawo do publicznego odtwarzania prezentacji artystycznej, prawo wprowadzania wizerunku do pamięci komputera, prawo do korzystania z wizerunku w celu promocji Konkursu oraz w celach informacyjnych związanych z Konkursem.
Uczestnik oświadcza, że jest uprawniony do wykonania i przesłania nagrań utworów zgodnie z Regulaminem i że wykonania te nie naruszają praw autorskich osób trzecich.
Uczestnik udziela Organizatorowi niewyłącznej, nieodpłatnej licencji na wykorzystanie przesłanych nagrań, wizerunku oraz prezentacji artystycznych w celach związanych z promocją Konkursu, publikacją wyników, archiwizacją oraz działalnością edukacyjną. Licencja obejmuje prawo do utrwalania, rozpowszechniania i publicznego odtwarzania nagrań, w tym ich publikację w internecie oraz w materiałach informacyjnych Organizatora.
Organizator nie przejmuje praw autorskich do wykonania utworów ani do samego utworu – prawa te pozostają przy uczestniku lub odpowiednich właścicielach praw autorskich. W przypadku naruszenia praw autorskich osób trzecich odpowiedzialność ponosi wyłącznie uczestnik.
Program Konkursu
ELIMINACJE (15–20 minut)
Nagrania audio-wideo wykonania dowolnego solowego utworu lub utworów o zróżnicowanym charakterze.
Nagrania te muszą przedstawiać pracę rąk i całą sylwetkę pianisty, profil z prawej strony, ujęcie jedną kamerą bez jakiegokolwiek montażu w trakcie wykonywania utworu. Dla polepszenia jakości dźwięku sugerujemy użycie zewnętrznych mikrofonów. Nagrania należy zamieścić na platformie YouTube.
I ETAP (30–35 minut)
- jedno z następujących dzieł Fryderyka Chopina: Scherzo h-moll op. 20, Scherzo b-moll op. 31, Scherzo cis-moll op. 39, Scherzo E-dur op. 54, Ballada g-moll op. 23, Ballada F-dur op. 38, Ballada As-dur op. 47, Ballada f-moll op. 52, Fantazja f-moll op. 49, Barkarola Fis-dur op. 60, Polonez-Fantazja As-dur op. 61
- dowolny utwór lub utwory
II ETAP (55–60 minut)
- dowolnie skonstruowany recital fortepianowy, podczas którego wymagane jest wykonanie sonaty klasycznej jednego z kompozytorów: J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven
III ETAP
Jeden z następujących koncertów fortepianowych Wolfganga Amadeusza Mozarta:
- d-moll KV 466
- C-dur KV 467
- A-dur KV 488
- c-moll KV 491
Program prezentowany podczas Konkursu należy wykonać z pamięci.
Program zaprezentowany w ramach eliminacji może być (w całości lub w części) powtórzony w I lub II etapie Konkursu.
W wypadku przekroczenia limitu czasu przeznaczonego na program konkursowy Jury zastrzega sobie prawo do przerwania występu. Ostatecznym terminem dokonywania zmian w programie konkursowym jest 11.10.2026.
Uczestnicy Konkursu będą mieli prawo wyboru fortepianu. Wybór będzie obowiązywał do końca przesłuchań.
Nagrody
Przewidywana pula głównych nagród finansowych dla laureatów I, II i III miejsca wynosi 65 000 PLN.
Nagroda specjalna w wysokości 2 000 PLN zostanie przyznana za najlepsze wykonanie utworu/utworów kompozytora polskiego (przewidywany czas trwania prezentacji – około 10 minut), z wyłączeniem kompozycji Fryderyka Chopina.
Wykaz nagród pozaregulaminowych zostanie opublikowany na stronie internetowej Konkursu.
Pula nagród finansowych może ulec zwiększeniu.
Jury ma prawo nie przyznać poszczególnych nagród głównych lub specjalnych.
Kwoty nagród zostaną pomniejszone o podatki należne zgodnie z obowiązującymi przepisami.
Organizatorzy nie pokrywają kosztów podróży ani pobytu uczestników w Gdańsku. Zainteresowani uczestnicy mogą samodzielnie dokonać rezerwacji pokoju w hotelu „Dom Muzyka” znajdującym się na terenie Akademii Muzycznej, w pobliżu miejsca przesłuchań konkursowych. Adres e-mail: biuro@dommuzyka.pl.

- Podanie danych jest dobrowolne, jednak konieczne do realizacji celów, do jakich zostały zebrane;
- Dane nie będą udostępniane podmiotom zewnętrznym z wyjątkiem fundatorów nagród w Konkursie oraz przypadków przewidzianych przepisami prawa;
- Dane nie będą przekazywane do państw trzecich lub organizacji międzynarodowych;
- Dane przechowywane będą przez okres przewidziany przez przepisy prawa cywilnego i gospodarczego, a także na okres ewentualnego dochodzenia roszczeń;
- Mają Państwo prawo dostępu do treści swoich danych oraz prawo do: ich sprostowania, usunięcia, ograniczenia przetwarzania, przenoszenia danych, wniesienia sprzeciwu, prawo do cofnięcia zgody w dowolnym momencie;
- Mają Państwo prawo do wniesienia skargi do Prezesa Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, gdy uznają Państwo, iż przetwarzanie danych osobowych narusza przepisy ogólnego rozporządzenia o ochronie danych.
