REGULATIONS
5TH INTERNATIONAL BALTIC PIANO COMPETITION IN GDAŃSK/POLAND
19–26 November 2023
1.
The 5th International Baltic Piano Competition, organized by the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk, will be held from 19 to 26 November 2023.
2.
The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities, who were born between 1990 and 2007, with the exception of citizens of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
3.
The 5th International Baltic Piano Competition will be held in three stages.
No more than 35 pianists will take part in the Competition. The list of entrants to the first stage of the Competition will be drawn up after the assessment of submitted video-recordings by the Selection Committee consisting of members of the Piano Faculty of the Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
A maximum number of 12 pianists will be accepted to the second stage and no more than 3 contestants will perform in the final stage. Performances will take place according to the alphabetical order of the contestant’s surnames commencing with a randomly chosen letter. The organizers will inform selected entrants of their admission to the first stage of the Competition as well as their performance dates and times via e-mail no later than 20th of September 2023.

Applications should be made via electronic application form available on the Competition website by 1st 13 of September 2023. Application form will be available from 1st of June 2023.

The following items should be attached with the Application Form:
• links with the applicant’s recorded repertoire in accordance with point 9 of these Regulations,
• the applicant’s short biographical note in Polish or in English,
• a copy of document confirming the applicant’s date of birth,
• digital photography,
• confirmation of payment of the entrance fee of 100 Euro.

By entering the Competition, the participant commits not to send materials that infringe the copyrights of third parties. Otherwise, he bears full responsibility towards persons whose rights have been violated.

Applicants, who do not qualify to participate in the Competition, will receive the reimbursement of half of their entrance fee (50 Euro) no later than two weeks after the list of competitors is announced.

The Competition Jury will consist of outstanding musicians from Poland and abroad. The Jury will assess competitors in accordance with the Jury Rules approved during the first meeting. All Jury decisions are final and non-appealable.
Within two weeks after the end of the Competition, the scores of individual jurors from each stage will be made public on the Competition website.
8.
Pianists currently studying under the supervision of pedagogues appointed as members of the Jury, as well as graduates of jurors in the last 5 years and persons who have taken part in courses covering more than 2 lessons, conducted by jurors, are not expected to participate in the Competition.
The participants entitle the Organizer to record their artistic presentations by means of video recordings and photographs. They also give the Organizer permission to use the materials created during Competition without territorial or time constraints. The permission applies to distribution and copying of the participants’ images, the right for public broadcasting of the artistic presentation, the right to upload the images into a computer, the right to use the images to promote the Competition and provide information about the Competition.
9.
Programme:
ELIMINATIONS (15–20 minutes)
Video recordings of performances of pieces listed below, showing the work of the hands and pianist’s whole body, profile on the right side, shot with one camera without any editing during the performance of the piece. We suggest using external microphones to improve sound quality. Recordings should be posted on YouTube.

STAGE I (30–35 minutes)
• Classical Sonata by one of the composers: J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven
• free choice piece or pieces
STAGE II (55–60 minutes)
• freely arranged piano recital, during which it is required to perform one of the following works by F. Chopin: Scherzo in B minor, Op. 20; Scherzo in B-flat minor, Op. 31; Scherzo in C-sharp minor, Op. 39; Scherzo in E major, Op. 54; Ballade in G minor, Op. 23; Ballade in F minor, Op. 38; Ballade in A-flat major, Op. 47; Ballade in F minor, Op. 52; Fantasia in F minor, Op. 49; Barcarolle in F-sharp major, Op. 60; Polonaise-Fantaisie in A-flat major, Op. 61

One of the following piano concertos:

10.
The programme presented during the Competition must be performed from memory.
11.
Awards:
Total money for the prizes is 60.000 PLN, the prize amount may change.
A special prize in the amount of 1.000 PLN for the best performance of a work/works by a Polish composer (expected duration of the presentation – about 10 minutes), excluding compositions by F. Chopin.
The list of prizes in the form of concerts will be published on the Competition website.
12.
The Jury has the right to alter the number, arrangement and value of prizes after voting the decision.
13.
In cases justified by important organizational reasons, the Jury – with the consent of the interested participants – has the right to change the order of the competition presentations.
14.
The organizers do not cover the costs of travel and stay of participants in Gdańsk. Interested participants can book a room on their own at the „Dom Muzyka” hotel located on the premises of the Academy of Music, near the place of the competition auditions.

15.
Information on the processing of personal data.
According to article 13 of the Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (UE) No 2016/679 from 27 April 2016 concerning the protection of private citizens in connection with the processing of personal data and concerning the free movement of data, as well as the repeal of Directive No 95/46/WE (general regulation concerning data protection) we would like to inform that:
a) Stanisław Moniuszko Academy of Music, located in: ul. Łąkowa 1-2, 80-743 Gdańsk, is the administrator of your personal data;
b) You can contact the Inspector of Data Protection, who supervises the correctness of personal data processing, at iod@amuz.gda.pl;
c) Personal data will be processed in order to conduct the V International Baltic Piano Competition;
d) The basis of processing your personal data is your consent for personal data processing. The consent can be withdrawn by the Participant at any time, but the possible consent withdrawal does not influence the compliance with the law of data processing executed by the data administrator based on the consent before its withdrawal;
e) Submitting personal data is voluntary; nevertheless, it is necessary for achieving the purposes for which personal data was collected;
f) Data will not be shared with third parties, accept for cases determined by the provisions of the law;
g) Data will not be shared with third countries or international organizations.
h) Data will be kept throughout the period determined in the provisions of the civil and business law, as well as throughout the period of possible claims pursuing;
i) You have the right to access your personal data and correct it, remove it, limit its processing, transfer it, appeal against its processing, withdraw your consent to its processing at any given time;
j) You have the right to lodge a complaint with the Chairman of the Office of Personal Data Protection, if you conclude that the processing of your personal data violates the provisions of the general regulation of data protection.
16.
Any doubts will be settled on the basis of the Polish version of these Regulations.
REGULAMIN
5. MIĘDZYNARODOWY BAŁTYCKI KONKURS PIANISTYCZNY W GDAŃSKU
19–26 listopada 2023 r.
1.
V Międzynarodowy Bałtycki Konkurs Pianistyczny organizowany jest przez Akademię Muzyczną im. Stanisława Moniuszki w Gdańsku w dniach 19–26.11.2023 r.
2.
W Konkursie uczestniczyć mogą pianiści wszystkich narodowości, urodzeni w latach 1990–2007, z wyjątkiem obywateli Federacji Rosyjskiej i Republiki Białorusi.
3.
V Międzynarodowy Bałtycki Konkurs Pianistyczny odbywać się będzie w trzech etapach. Do udziału w Konkursie zostanie dopuszczonych maksymalnie 35 pianistów. Listę uczestników pierwszego etapu Konkursu wyłoni po przesłuchaniu nadesłanych nagrań Komisja Kwalifikacyjna złożona z członków Katedry Fortepianu Akademii Muzycznej w Gdańsku. Do etapu drugiego dopuszczonych zostanie maksymalnie 12, a do finału nie więcej niż 3 uczestników. Konkursowe prezentacje uczestników odbywać się będą w kolejności alfabetycznej nazwisk, począwszy od wylosowanej litery. Organizatorzy powiadomią uczestników pocztą elektroniczną o zakwalifikowaniu do udziału w Konkursie oraz terminie ich występu w pierwszym etapie, do dnia 20.09.2023 r.

Zgłoszeń należy dokonywać poprzez elektroniczny Formularz Zgłoszeniowy dostępny na stronie internetowej Konkursu do dnia 1.09.2023 r. 13.09.2023r. Formularz Zgłoszeniowy zostanie udostępniony w dniu 1.06.2023 r.
5.
Do Formularza Zgłoszeniowego należy dołączyć:
• linki do nagranych przez zgłaszającego się uczestnika utworów zgodnie z pkt. 9 niniejszego Regulaminu,
• krótką notkę biograficzną w języku polskim i angielskim,
• kopię dokumentu potwierdzającego datę urodzenia,
• fotografię w wersji elektronicznej,
• potwierdzenie wpłaty wpisowego w wysokości 100 EUR.

Uczestnik, przystępując do Konkursu, zobowiązuje się do nieprzesyłania materiałów, które naruszają prawa autorskie osób trzecich. W przeciwnym razie ponosi pełną i wyłączną odpowiedzialność wobec osób, których prawa zostały naruszone.
6.
Osoby niezakwalifikowane do udziału w Konkursie otrzymają zwrot połowy wpisowego (50 EUR) najpóźniej dwa tygodnie po ogłoszeniu listy uczestników Konkursu.
7.
Jury Konkursu składać się będzie z wybitnych muzyków polskich i zagranicznych. Jury pracować będzie w oparciu o zatwierdzony na pierwszym posiedzeniu Regulamin Jury. Wszystkie decyzje Jury są ostateczne i niezaskarżalne.
W terminie do dwóch tygodni po zakończeniu Konkursu na stronie internetowej zostanie podana do publicznej wiadomości punktacja poszczególnych Jurorów z każdego etapu.
8.
Nie przewiduje się udziału w Konkursie pianistów aktualnie studiujących pod kierunkiem pedagogów powołanych w skład międzynarodowego Jury Konkursu, a także absolwentów jurorów z ostatnich 5 lat i osób, które brały udział w kursach obejmujących więcej niż 2 lekcje, prowadzonych przez jurorów.
Uczestnicy Konkursu wyrażają zgodę na utrwalenie ich prezentacji artystycznej oraz wizerunku w postaci dokumentacji fotograficznej, nagrań audio-wideo oraz na korzystanie przez organizatorów z materiałów zarejestrowanych w trakcie trwania Konkursu, bez ograniczeń terytorialnych i czasowych. Zgoda obejmuje: wykorzystanie, utrwalanie, rozpowszechnianie i powielanie wizerunku uczestników, prawo do publicznego odtwarzania prezentacji artystycznej, prawo wprowadzania wizerunku do pamięci komputera, prawo do korzystania z wizerunku w celu promocji Konkursu oraz w celach informacyjnych związanych z Konkursem.
9.
Program:
ELIMINACJE (15–20 minut)
Nagrania wideo wykonania poniżej podanych utworów, przedstawiające pracę rąk i całą sylwetkę pianisty, profil z prawej strony, ujęcie jedną kamerą bez jakiegokolwiek montażu w trakcie wykonywania utworu. Dla polepszenia jakości dźwięku sugerujemy użycie zewnętrznych mikrofonów. Nagrania należy zamieścić na platformie YouTube.

I ETAP (30–35 minut)
• Sonata klasyczna jednego z kompozytorów: J. Haydn, W.A. Mozart, L. van Beethoven
• dowolny utwór lub utwory
II ETAP (55–60 minut)
• dowolnie skonstruowany recital fortepianowy, podczas którego wymagane jest wykonanie jednego z następujących dzieł Fryderyka Chopina: Scherzo h-moll op. 20, Scherzo b-moll op. 31, Scherzo cis-moll op. 39, Scherzo E-dur op. 54, Ballada g-moll op. 23, Ballada F-dur op. 38, Ballada As-dur op. 47, Ballada f-moll op. 52, Fantazja f-moll op. 49, Barkarola Fis-dur op. 60, Polonez-Fantazja As-dur op. 61
III ETAP

10.
Program prezentowany podczas Konkursu należy wykonać z pamięci.
11.
Nagrody:
Pula nagród wynosi 60.000 PLN, wysokość nagród może ulec zmianie.
Nagroda specjalna w wysokości 1.000 PLN za najlepsze wykonanie utworu/utworów kompozytora polskiego (przewidywany czas trwania prezentacji – około 10 minut), z wyłączeniem kompozycji Fryderyka Chopina.
Wykaz nagród w formie koncertów zostanie opublikowany na stronie internetowej Konkursu.
12.
Jury ma prawo, w wyniku głosowania, ustalić liczbę, układ i wysokość nagród.
13.
W przypadkach uzasadnionych ważnymi względami organizacyjnymi Jury – za zgodą zainteresowanych uczestników – ma prawo zmienić kolejność prezentacji konkursowych.
14.
Organizatorzy nie pokrywają kosztów podróży ani pobytu uczestników w Gdańsku. Zainteresowani uczestnicy mogą samodzielnie dokonać rezerwacji pokoju w hotelu „Dom Muzyka” znajdującym się na terenie Akademii Muzycznej, w pobliżu miejsca przesłuchań konkursowych. Adres e-mail: biuro@dommuzyka.pl.
15.
Informacja o przetwarzaniu danych osobowych.
Zgodnie z art. 13 Rozporządzenia Parlamentu Europejskiego i Rady (UE) 2016/679 z dnia 27 kwietnia 2016 r. w sprawie ochrony osób fizycznych w związku z przetwarzaniem danych osobowych i w sprawie swobodnego przepływu takich danych oraz uchylenia dyrektywy 95/46/WE (ogólne rozporządzenie o ochronie danych), informujemy, że:
a) Administratorem Pani/Pana danych osobowych jest Akademia Muzyczna im. Stanisława Moniuszki z siedzibą przy ul. Łąkowej 1-2, 80-743 Gdańsk;
b) Z Inspektorem Ochrony Danych, nadzorującym prawidłowość przetwarzania danych osobowych, można skontaktować się za pośrednictwem adresu e-mail: iod©amuz.gda.pl;
c) Dane osobowe przetwarzane będą w celach związanych z przeprowadzeniem V Międzynarodowego Bałtyckiego Konkursu Pianistycznego;
d) Podstawą do przetwarzania Pani/Pana danych osobowych jest zgoda na przetwarzanie danych osobowych. Zgoda może zostać wycofana przez Uczestnika w każdym czasie, niemniej ewentualne wycofanie zgody nie wpływa na zgodność z prawem przetwarzania, którego administrator danych dokonywał na podstawie zgody przed jej wycofaniem.
e) Podanie danych jest dobrowolne, jednak konieczne do realizacji celów, do jakich zostały zebrane;
f) Dane nie będą udostępniane podmiotom zewnętrznym z wyjątkiem przypadków przewidzianych przepisami prawa;
g) Dane nie będą przekazywane do państw trzecich lub organizacji międzynarodowej.
h) Dane przechowywane będą przez okres przewidziany przez przepisy prawa cywilnego i gospodarczego, a także na okres ewentualnego dochodzenia roszczeń.
i) Mają Państwo prawo dostępu do treści swoich danych oraz prawo do: ich sprostowania, usunięcia, ograniczenia przetwarzania, przenoszenia danych, wniesienia sprzeciwu, prawo do cofnięcia zgody w dowolnym momencie;
j) Mają Państwo prawo do wniesienia skargi do Prezesa Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych, gdy uznają Państwo, iż przetwarzanie danych osobowych narusza przepisy ogólnego rozporządzenia o ochronie danych.
16.
Ewentualne wątpliwości rozstrzygane będą na podstawie polskiej wersji niniejszego Regulaminu.
